Wasn’t expecting to love this place as much as I did—especially since I’m not usually a fan of Chicago-style or big crust pizza. But Wrecktangle completely changed my mind. The service was fantastic—super friendly and welcoming, with a crew that clearly enjoys what they do. It really makes a difference. And the pizza? Incredible. The dough was soft, saturated, and packed with flavor. I normally find thicker crusts overwhelming, but this one was the perfect balance—rich, airy, and just crispy enough on the edges. Every bite was gooey, cheesy, and satisfying in all the best ways. If you’re on the fence about this style of pizza, give Wrecktangle a shot. It might surprise you like it did me.
As far as Detroit style goes, this is excellently executed. The dough is soft with a crispy crust. The frico isn’t the prettiest but definitely tastes great and provides the perfect crisp texture to balance out the gooey cheese and clean, light sauce. A truly balanced Detroit style pizza that will make any midwesterner appreciate. The service was great and definitely worth a visit.
Having been to Wrecktangle 2 other locations I was excited to see their first stand alone location! This place is a great addition to the Lyn-Lake area. The menu while pizza heavy, duh, still has some other great choices! I love their cocktails, nice and simple flavors paired together to pop! The space is outstanding and I love their little living room setup! I will be back to stuff myself with more pizza and cocktails!
The pizza is phenomenal. It is thick crusted, but it is soft and melts in your mouth. I tried the pickle pizza here for the first time. Pickles actually go really well with pizza. I like the atmosphere as well. There were Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling and a blue cloud in the entrance. My main critique is that it is expense with most pizzas being over 20 and appetizers being over 15. However, the pizza is worth the price. I split mine with someone. It is filling since it is a thick crust pizza. Unlike other restaurant pizzas, the ingredients tasted fresh, and my stomach never got upset from the pizza. I always have stomach issues with other restaurant pizza, but not with this one. I think that may be due to fresh ingredients.
Different pizza choices. All good. Cold brew coffee is great here!! Fits well with some of the more creamy based pizzas. Ham appetizer is classic.
My wife and I decided to check out a new joint for lunch and chose this place. Happy we did. We both ordered off of the lunch deals menu and got a half Caesar salad and a slice of pizza. We both very much enjoyed what they had to offer. Would go back for more.
BELIEVE THE HYPE! It took me a while, but I finally had the breakfast pizza and my expectations were exceeded. It's perfectly crispy, buttery, and full of flavor. That bacon jelly hits just right. Excellent staff as well! Loved the environment overall and will be back.
The food here was incredible and we had a really awesome server who was wearing a twin peaks hat(v cool) Good beer prices and I love the deals they have every Monday! Definitely will be back to try more pizza and enjoy the cool vibes
